About Us

Welcome to St Timothy’s Pre-School

Our school was established in 1975 as a non-profit organization. Our play-based preschool is a social outreach program of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church and is a part of the Church’s ministry to the local community. While we do not provide religious instruction or worship, we operate on the premise that the Church’s mission can best be expressed by “living out the values” of Christianity rather than “teaching” them in a formalized sense or setting, improving in their child development. We emphasize sharing, caring, kindness and manners.

At St. Timothy’s, the primary objective is to provide a loving and nurturing environment where children can learn to respect and care for themselves and others without regard to gender, race, nationality, religious or ethnic background. St. Timothy’s Pre-School is governed by an appointed Board of Directors comprised of representatives of St. Timothy’s Church and the community.

Small morning classes are offered for children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old from 8:45 – 12:00. We also offer an optional Early Birds program from 7:45 – 8:45; an optional Lunch Bunch program from 12:00 – 1:30; and an optional after care or enrichment program, called STAC or STEP from 1:30 – 4:00. Our Kindergarten-Readiness curriculum includes art, math, science, music/movement, and language arts.

The preschool is licensed by the State of Virginia and is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools. St. Timothy’s staff are trained in first aid and CPR and their qualifications meet or exceed all State of VA requirements.
